"The Return" - Season 3

Since Dwight's departure, Andy had been clinging to Michael. Andy's antics had been wearing very thin on his co-workers. In fact, Andy left Jim actually wishing Dwight would come back.

Oscar returned to work from his "gaycation." Angela took it upon herself to ask Oscar if he wanted to be part of the all-female party planning committee. He wanted to know if he was only asked because he was gay. Angela broke down and started crying and Oscar agreed to join the committee in hopes she would stop crying.

Andy was getting on Jim's nerves and Jim wanted to pull an ultimate prank on him. He asked Karen to go in with him on the prank, but she declined, as did Ryan. Jim eventually went to Pam and she enthusiastically agreed to go along with Jim in pulling a prank on Andy.

Since Dwight's resignation from Dunder-Mifflin, he got a job at Staples. He was doing well in the sales department, but creeping out some of his customers. He also wasn't rubbing his co-workers the right way.

Michael ordered a Mexican party in celebration of Oscar's return. This meant Mexican lemonade and piñatas. Pam tried to get assistance from Angela, who appeared to be very sad. She confirmed that she was sad. She later admitted to Michael the real reason why Dwight went to New York, to do the job she forgot to do.

Jim and Pam teamed up and stole Andy's phone when he was not looking. Jim hid the phone in the ceiling of the office and he and Pam took turns calling it. This was driving Andy mad, especially when he kept hearing his ring tones, but couldn't tell where they were coming from. Andy was becoming unhinged in front of all his co-workers.

After Andy punched a hole in Michael's office wall, Michael went on a mission to find Dwight at Staples. Michael admitted his mistake in accusing Dwight of hitting on Jan. He said Angela came clean with everything. Dwight realized that Angela didn't come clean about their relationship and was disappointed. Michael wanted Dwight to come back to Dunder-Mifflin and Dwight accepted the job offer.

After witnessing how close Jim and Pam were getting, Karen was becoming insecure with her own relationship. She got Jim alone and asked him if he still had feelings for Pam. Jim paused for a moment and admitted that he did still have feelings for her. Karen collected her thoughts and then left the room.

Dwight returned back to Dunder-Mifflin. Angela was delighted that her knight in shining armor was back to work. Oscar's party all of a sudden had turned into Dwight's party, complete with Dwight getting the first crack at all the piñatas.

"Traveling Salesmen" - Season 3

Michael decided to send his employees out into the field for sales calls. He paired himself up with Andy. He let the veterans choose who they wanted their partners to be. Phyllis chose Karen, Stanley chose Ryan and that left Jim and Dwight paired together. This wasn't the first time Dwight and Jim had done sales calls together.

Andy caught Michael giving his laundry to Dwight and wanted to know why. Michael told Andy that it was Dwight's punishment for going behind his back and trying to hit on Jan. Andy listened and used this news to his advantage, as he tried to move up the totem pole in being Michael's favorite.

Angela invited Pam to go get coffee. Pam couldn't believe how friendly Angela was being. Angela let Pam in on a secret, telling the story of a woman who missed a deadline to get some paperwork to New York. Then a gentleman who delivered the woman's papers, himself, to New York. Secretly, the story was about Angela missing a deadline and Dwight taking matters into his own hands.

Phyllis took Karen to a beauty salon before making a sales call. Karen was not fond of her new look until Phyllis took her to their first client. The man's wife, who he worshipped, was decorated in the exact same fashion and then it all made sense to Karen.

While Jim was trying to make a sale to a client, Dwight was using the man's phone to make a call on speakerphone. While Dwight was on hold, Jim continued his pitch. Dwight made the call to make a point; he was still on hold with Dunder-Mifflin's competition. While Dunder-Miffin takes their customer service as top priority!

Karen thanked Phyllis for showing her such a good time during the sales calls. Phyllis told Karen she was so happy she found Jim because he was so hung up on Pam for such a long time. This was all news to Karen. Phyllis confessed that she thought Jim would never get over Pam and she thought Karen was a start in the right direction.

Andy was still jealous of Michael's friendship with Dwight so he decided to snoop through his car. He found a tollbooth receipt from his trip to New York earlier that morning. Dwight went there so Angela could make her deadline, but Andy told Michael he probably went there to try to win over Jan.

Michael wanted the truth from Dwight about his trip to New York, but he refused to break. Later on, he told Angela that he wanted them to reveal their true love in front of everybody at the office.

Karen and Jim went to coffee and she asked him if he ever had a thing for Pam. He admitted he had a crush on her, but that was as far as it went. He followed it up with letting Karen know he was very happy she moved to Scranton.

Dwight demanded the attention from the office and broke the news of his resignation. He packed up his desk and left. Later on, Angela overheard Andy confessing that he was behind the destruction of Dwight's reputation thus leading to his resignation. She stared silently at Andy as he continued to gloat about his victory.

"Back From Vacation" - Season 3

Karen and Jim had their first big fight in the relationship. Karen had been living in a hotel since taking her job in Scranton. When she decided to live next door to Jim, he took it as the next step to living together and that was too fast. She was not pleased with his response.

Michael returned back to work from his vacation in Jamaica. He held a meeting in the conference room to show everybody pictures from his trip. Pam pointed out that the woman in one of the pictures was Jan. Michael tried to cover up the picture, because Jan wanted nobody to know that she went on this trip. Michael privately confessed that he had sex with Jan.

Michael had a picture on his computer of him putting lotion on a topless Jan. He wanted to be funny and send it to his friend Packard, but instead, he sent it to the packaging department at Dunder Mifflin. Darrell forwarded the picture to everybody and it ended up back at Michael's department.

Jim turned to Pam for advice about Karen. He told her he thought the fact of her living down the street might be a bit much since they had only been going out for a month. Pam advised Jim to go easy on Karen. He was thankful for her friendship and her advice. Jim later gave Karen the renters application she needed to move down the street from him.

Michael and Dwight went down to the packaging department and noticed the guys blew up his picture with Jan and hung it up. When the guys saw Michael, they all applauded him. Michael accepted their applause. He got freaked out when Pam later told Michael that Jan was on her way to the office.

Karen took Pam aside and thanked her for knocking some sense into Jim when it came to her moving plans. Pam told Karen it was nothing. Later on, Pam found a vacant hallway in the building and started sobbing. Dwight found her and she told him there was nothing wrong. He gave her a hankerchief and gave her a shoulder to cry on.

Dundler-Mifflin was getting ready to throw their tropical themed party at Michael's request. Jan showed up and needed to talk to Michael privately. She told the gang that she got back from Arizona and that's why she was so tan. Once they were alone, Jan confessed she was attracted to Michael and kissed him. He realized she had no idea about the picture that was circulating around.

"A Benihana Christmas" - Season 3

Michael was in the holiday spirit and couldn't wait to share in it with his girlfriend, Carol. He had bought two tickets to paradise, hoping to whisk her away on a romantic vacation to Jamaica. Carol came by the office early to have a talk with Michael and it didn't go well.

Pam called Jim aside to give him his Christmas present early. She had been pulling a prank on Dwight and was giving Jim the right to choose her next move on how to pull the ultimate prank. Jim didn't think it was a good idea to participate in Pam's plan because he was upper management now.

Carol broke up with Michael after she discovered he had replaced a picture of her ex-husband with her children with a picture of himself with her children. She thought it was creepy. Michael retaliated by canceling Christmas for the whole office.

Karen tried to give a few ideas to the party committee about Christmas. Angela took it upon herself to veto every idea that Karen came up with. Angela ended up kicking Karen out of the committee.

Angela was shocked and disgusted to find out that Karen and Pam had teamed up to throw their own Christmas party with margaritas and karaoke. The rest of the office thought that Pam and Karen's party sounded way more fun then Angela and her committee's party. Dwight sided with Angela and ordered Pam and Karen to cancel their party. Jim reinstated the party because he outranked Dwight in order of power.

Andy wanted to heal Michael's broken heart by taking him out along with Jim and Dwight. They went to Benihana's for lunch, as Andy suggested. Andy wanted to make it a goal to have Michael forget completely about Carol. Meanwhile, Dwight was feeling left out on Michael and Andy's newfound friendship.

It was time for the office parties to begin. Karen and Pam opened up their party with a margarita machine. While, Angela started her party the same time and offered up double fudge brownies. The office staff split up on which party to attend between the two.

Pam and Karen's party was a hit, especially when they got a keyboard hooked up and had live singing. Andy and Michael crashed it with two of the waitresses from Benihana's. Meanwhile, at Angela's party, Phyllis was secretly wishing she could leave and attend Pam and Karen's.

Pam felt bad for Angela and her party. She and Karen had a meeting and decided to disband their party committee and make Angela the only party planner in the office from now on. Pam and Karen also proposed to Angela that the two parties merge into one.

Michael had been drinking and forgot which waitress he was wooing and which one Andy had been wooing. He was hoping the girls could clear it up for him. When he found out which girl he was after, he marked her with a pen so he wouldn't forget again. The waitresses got bored and ended up leaving the party early.

Jim and Karen had exchanged presents and a saddened Pam watched. A little later, Roy surprised Pam with a Christmas present. Jim watched on as Pam smiled and gave Roy a hug. Meanwhile, Michael was in his office inviting a mystery guest to accompany him on his Jamaican vacation he had originally bought for Carol.

"The Convict" - Season 3

Angela and Kevin were trying to figure out where the extra money in the budget came from. Jan let them know it was money Dunder-Mifflin received for hiring an ex-convict. Michael swore he never hired an ex-convict. Jan informed him that the person must have come from the merger.

Andy called Jim up to ask him about different girls at the office. Andy decided he was going to ask out Pam and asked Jim's advice on it. Jim told him to go for it! Jim decided to give Andy a list of pointers to win Pam over. Except he switched it up, giving Andy a list of Pam's dislikes, and labeling them as things she does like.

Michael found out the convict was Martin. He decided it was his duty to announce it to the entire office. Martin cleared up his name by saying he went to prison for insider trading. Different employees had questions about what prison was like. Martin was making prison sound very appealing to his co-workers.

Michael was beginning to get irritated with Martin's comparisons of prison life to life at Dunder-Mifflin. He introduced himself as "Prison Mike" and wanted to scare everybody straight. Instead, it was making the staff uncomfortable. Michael got made and locked them in the conference room.

After Toby freed everybody from the conference room, Martin decided to quit his job. Michael said he didn't work with quitters and was disappointed in Martin. Michael also revealed he was not going to miss Martin one bit.

"The Merger" - Season 3

The Scranton branch was getting ready for their new employees to arrive in from the defunct Stamford branch. Pam was especially excited to be reunited with Jim. While, Michael was most concerned with impressing his new staff.

Michael welcomed all the new employees with goodie bags filled with pencils and coupons to some of Scranton's major hot spots. Pam greeted Jim with a giant hug. Dwight approached Jim with a warning not to mess with him; he is older and now wiser.

Dwight was nervous about Michael's growing relationship with Andy. Dwight wanted reassurance that he was in a higher position than his newfound nemesis. Michael wanted to be left alone and told Dwight he had a company to run.

Michael made a rap video called "Lazy Scranton" with Dwight to welcome the new employees to Scranton. Nobody seemed that impressed with the video, except Michael, who thought it was an A++ video.

The new employees were trying to fit into the Scranton branch's circle, but they were having a hard time adjusting. Karen ruffled some feathers with Phyllis when she commented about being allergic to Phyllis' perfume.

Michael introduced the new co-workers by having them sit on top of a table. One of the new employees, Tony, was too heavy to climb the table, so Dwight and Michael made it awkward and helped him up to the table. Due to the inappropriateness of the situation, Tony quit his job. He couldn't work with Michael's management style. But, Michael fired him, before he could quit.

After Michael pulled a prank on his staff in the parking lot, they all got fed up and went back inside the building. Pam was going to walk in with Jim, but noticed he was preoccupied with Karen. Pam was surprised about how close they had gotten.

An unhappy Jan called Michael. She was furious that Michael fired Tony when he tried to quit his job. This meant the company now had to give Tony a severance package. Michael told Jan that it was Dwight's idea, but Jan informed Michael that Jim was his new number two man.

After work, Jim took a phone call from Karen wondering if he wanted to meet for a drink. He told her he had to call her back. He stopped Pam in the parking lot to see how she was doing. He told Pam that she didn't need to worry he had already started seeing somebody new. She assured Jim they would always be friends.
