Michael was educating the entire staff about Diwali, the Hindu holiday that Kelly celebrated. Kelly had invited everybody from work to the celebration. Pam was unsure if she was going to make it, she later confided in Angela that she was saddened because she had nobody to attend the celebration with.

Jim, Andy and Karen had to stay late after work to number crunch. Andy thought it would be a great time to take liquor shots while working. Every time Jim and Andy took a shot; Karen tossed hers in the garbage behind their backs.

Roy showed up at the Diwali celebration to find a free spirited Pam dancing on the dance floor. After seeing her so happy, Roy left the party. Pam never saw him and continued dancing.

She was stunned, as was the audience. She told Michael that they needed to talk privately. She told him it was too soon to be talking about marriage.

Pam was disappointed when she didn't receive a text message back from Jim. She found Michael sulking outside. It got awkward when Michael tried to kiss Pam and she rejected him. She later agreed to take him home, if he sat in the back seat and didn't talk.
