"Initiation" - Season 3

Dwight was very excited because he got to take Ryan on his first sales call. He couldn't wait to show Ryan how the sales are really done. Before that, the men took a little side trip to the Schrute family beet farm. Dwight thought it would be funny to leave Ryan on the farm.

Jim switched chairs with Karen behind her back, so she had his squeaky chair. She tried hopelessly to get Jim out of his chair so she could get hers back. Her plans all failed. So she decided to annoy Jim by squeaking her chair back and forth, but he retaliated by singing a very annoying song at her.

It was the day that some of the staff at Dundler-Mifflin had been waiting for: Free Pretzel Day. Michael and Stanley waited in line for their pretzels and when Phyllis tried to cut, the guys went ballistic and sent her to the back of the line. When Michael finally got his choice of a pretzel, he wanted a sweet one with all the toppings!

Ryan found Dwight inside the Schrute farmhouse. Dwight sat Ryan down, determined to teach him a few things about working in sales. Meanwhile, back at the office, Kelly was concerned that Ryan wasn't back yet. Angela lashed out when Kelly said she was worried that Ryan was out with a freak like Dwight.

Jan put Pam in charge of keeping an eye on Michael's activities at the office. So far, Michael wasn't being very productive. When Jan called to check up with Pam, Michael was passed out at his desk from all the sugar in his sweet pretzel.

Jim called the Scranton branch looking for Kevin. He didn't expect Pam to still be at work and pick up the phone. Their conversation started a bit rocky, but the two began flowing smoothly like old times. Pam was interrupted when Ryan and Dwight returned. Once they left, Pam and Jim said their goodbyes.

"Grief Counseling" - Season 3

Jim felt awkward at the morning meeting when his boss put him charge of managing Karen and her responsibilities. The other co-workers looked at Jim as a kiss ass. Later on, he flirted with Karen in the break room and told her she shouldn't work until she found her favorite snack chips.

Jan broke the news that Michael's old boss, Ed Truck died. Michael told the rest of the staff about Ed's passing. Creed broke the news that Ed was decapitated when he was drunk driving and crashed his car. Michael wanted Jan to erect a statue of Ed outside the building.

Michael thought it would be a good idea to hold a grief counseling session for the office. Roy interrupted the meeting to tell Pam that he noticed something wrong with her car. When she walked to the parking lot with Roy, he had confessed he was just saving her from another one of Michael's group sessions. When Pam returned, so did the session.

Michael thought it would be a great idea to have all the members of the office share stories of loss in their own lives. But, instead, the co-workers shared details of their favorite movies. Michael was fed up that they were taking his grief counseling so lightly.

Karen returned to her desk and found a bag of her favorite snack chips. She couldn't believe Jim had found a bag when they thought they had searched everywhere. Jim denied finding the chips. Jim confessed that he bought them from the vending machine from the building next door.

After discovering a dead bird was outside the office, Michael had decided to throw it a proper funeral. Pam made a bird coffin out of a shoebox and Michael was touched that she cared. Pam delivered the heartfelt eulogy and Dwight played the recorder.

"The Coup" - Season 3

Michael had made it a point to have Movie Monday every week. He called the office into the conference room to watch a 30-minute installment of Varsity Blues, but Jan made an unexpected visit and did not like what she saw.

Angela had Dwight thinking that he could run the office if Michael was fired. Dwight thought about it and decided to meet up with Jan. He lied to Michael and then told Jan to come to an outlet center where they could meet privately.

Jan informed Michael that Dwight was trying to take control of the office. She warned Michael to get better control of his staff. Michael couldn't believe Dwight's nerve. Afterall, Jan was kind of an ex-lover of Michael's.

Jim's branch became obsessed with playing video games while at work. His boss was infuriated when he found out that Jim was the reason why their branch was losing video game points. Meanwhile, Jim was gaining points with his co-worker, Karen.

Michael had Dwight believing that he was going to take over the office. He also let Dwight know that his loyalty was being tested and had him managing the office. Michael told the office that Dwight was taking over.

Pam had taken Kelly's advice and bought new colorful and stylish clothes online. The only problem was that they were getting her unwanted attention from the likes of Creed. She decided to continue wearing her more matronly clothes to work.

Michael took his job as manager back from Dwight. He told Dwight he'd found out about his betrayal through Jan. Dwight pleaded with Michael to trust him again. The office just watched as Dwight got on his knees and begged.
